// SERVICE: STRATEGY WORKSHOP

Observability Strategy Workshop: a solid basis for decisions in two to three weeks

You are facing a renewal, consolidation or platform decision – and the facts for it are missing. The workshop takes your monitoring landscape apart, names cost drivers and blind spots, and orders the next steps by impact. You walk away with a decision paper, not with slides.

First step: a short, free intro call – directly with a senior consultant, no sales chain. No strings attached – you decide afterwards.

Drawn from 50+ observability projects for 30+ enterprise clients in 12+ countries – 15+ years of hands-on experience across the team, cross-vendor from Grafana and OpenTelemetry to Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk and Elastic.

// WHEN IT PAYS OFF

Does any of this sound familiar?

The workshop pays off at a crossroads, when the facts for the next decision are missing. The most expensive decision in monitoring is the one made without them.

Renewal is approaching

A contract or budget deadline is coming up, and before you sign you want to know where your monitoring costs arise – and which levers bring them down.

Sprawl that just grew

More tools, more dashboards, more alerts – but nobody can say precisely what delivers impact and what is just effort.

Outages noticed too late

Incidents repeat, or only surface when the customer calls. The blind spots are known, but never named.

A decision or an audit trail

A migration, a platform choice or an internal review demands a solid assessment of where you stand – an independent finding that holds up at board level.

// HOW IT RUNS

Three steps to a basis for decisions

1 · Inventory

We define the scope and review your landscape where it counts: alert hygiene and noise, data volume and retention, tool overlap, unused telemetry, and the coverage of your business-critical services. We take on the heavy lifting.

2 · Findings

We separate what really hurts from the noise: where do you notice incidents too late? Where do alerts lose their meaning in the noise? Where does the trail break off at the borders of your tool islands? And where does data volume tie up money unnecessarily?

3 · Prioritisation

We order the next steps by impact and effort – from quick wins you can tackle immediately and internally, to larger initiatives, each with a rough effort estimate.

// DELIVERABLE

What you hold in your hands afterwards

Not a slide deck to work through, but a written decision paper that stands up in front of management, procurement and internal audit – every statement traceable to its source.

Inside the decision paper

Format & framework

Sounds like the paper you're missing right now?

First step: a short, free intro call – directly with a senior consultant, no sales chain. No strings attached – you decide afterwards.

// AND AFTERWARDS

The paper is the beginning, not the end

We take on the roadmap’s execution as a separate package – Implementation & Migration with parity sign-off in parallel operation. And once the platform is running, Managed Observability keeps it sharp. Both can be commissioned separately – or you execute internally: the decision paper is yours.

// FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the workshop

You get an agreed deliverable instead of a promise. The proposal states up front how you will measure the decision paper – for instance, every blind spot with its evidence and every cost item with its data source. If, in your assessment, the paper doesn’t meet those points, it comes at our expense – noticeably so.

A fixed price you know before committing – typically in the lower five-figure range, depending on scope and the number of tools. You receive a binding proposal with a fixed scope of deliverables; what it states, we deliver at that price. The intro call to clarify fit is free.

A few focused hours, spread over two to three weeks: a kick-off, one short conversation each with the teams that work with the tools daily, and the access credentials. The analysis itself is our job.

Not necessarily. Staying with your existing tool and overhauling it, or executing steps internally, is just as valid an outcome. If the next step is to buy nothing for now, that is exactly what the paper will say.

They could – but rarely neutrally, and rarely in two to three weeks. Your teams know the landscape, but they are caught up in day-to-day business and in the habits from which the blind spots arise in the first place. We bring the outside view and comparison material from many landscapes.

It delivers the basis for decisions, not the execution. We build, migrate and implement nothing in the workshop – those are separate projects, commissioned separately. The decision paper is yours and stands on its own.

Know where your monitoring ties up money – and where it leaves you blind

In a free intro call we clarify where you stand and whether the workshop is the right next step for you – no strings attached, no death by slide deck. With a success guarantee on the agreed deliverable.
